Peace is Possible

Providing therapy to children, teens, young adults and parents in San Diego, California

Are you tired of things being so difficult at home? You can see that your child or teen is struggling, but you're not sure what to do to help. They may be having difficulties in school or with friends. Or it may be that things feel out of control at home. You try so hard to help things get better, but it seems like things are just stuck. Maybe you’ve noticed that your reactions to your kids are way bigger than you want them to be. It takes you off guard because it happens so quickly. Something happens to trigger you and you lose your temper, and then you feel so guilty. Or maybe parenting feels overwhelming because you’re listening to so many parenting professionals, that now it feels like you really don’t know what to do.

You love your child so much.  You just feel overwhelmed and not sure what to do.

.

It doesn't have to be this way! Things can get better for you and your child. It’s possible for you to have the solid connection you want, and have a clearer understanding of how to help your child through their tough times. I can help get you there! I am a Registered Play Therapist and I will use play therapy techniques to help your child manage their strong emotions and improve their behaviors. I will allow your teen or young adult to have a safe place to vent and work through their challenges. And I will support you in learning ways to work through your “stuff” so you can manage your emotions when your child’s emotions get big.

I can help you be the parent you want to be for your child or teen!

It can be difficult when we feel stuck and feel it's impossible to get started on the path to more peace at home. I will be with you and your family throughout this process, while providing support and encouragement. I will work with your child or teen, and also with you to feel better. There is hope for a brighter, less stressful future!

  • Child and Adolescent Therapy

Children learn through play. It’s how they communicate and process their emotions. I provide a safe, accepting environment for children to engage in play therapy in order to heal and grow.

  • Individual Therapy

A nurturing, accepting relationship is needed to feel safe enough to work through challenges and make positive changes. I work collaboratively with teens and adults to gently guide them into potential areas of growth.

  • EMDR – Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

EMDR can be life-changing by helping both children and adults move more freely into their lives by decreasing anxiety, depression and other distressing symptoms.

  • Medical Trauma/Chronic Illness

If you or your child have experienced a distressing medical event or have an ongoing illness, therapy can help you process the difficult emotions. I can help guide you and your child on the path to healing.
